This animation was created to show the new technology implemented in aSPHERE™ M-Spec Contoured Metal Head from DePuy Orthopaedics, Inc. A comparison is shown between aSPHERE™ and traditional technology with emphasis on showing the reduction of metal wear debris and metal ion release.

Using precise data from DePuy, the animation clearly depicts the typical break-in wear pattern seen in metal-on-metal bearings. The animation clearly communicates the reduction of wear debris and metal ions that occur during the early years of a metal bearing when using the aSPHERE™.
